Closing bell: Nifty ends at 10,302; Nestle and ICICI Bank among top gainers

Sensex erases gains, ends 46 pts lower ahead of PM Modi's address to the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic; Nifty ends flat; Nestle, Maruti gain 2% each. 17 of 30 Sensex stocks end the day in the red. Among Nifty stocks, BPCL was the top loser, down 2.44% followed by IOC and PowerGrid Corp, which fell 2.01% and 1.91% respectively. Sun Pharma, UPL, Coal India, Vedanta, Gail, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, RIL, IndusInd Bank were the other prominent losers in the Nifty. Meanwhile, Shree Cements was the top gainer in Nifty, up 3.17% followed by Maruti Suzuki and Nestle, which gained 2.76% and 2.62% respectively. ICICI Bank, Britannia, Ultratech Cement, Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp were the other big gainers in the Nifty. 1. Index contributors: RIL, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS, ITC 2.
