Telemedicine: The future of healthcare services | Exclusive by ET NOW

Telemedicine: The future of healthcare services | Exclusive

Video description:
The medicinal term 'doctor on call' may be turned into quite a literal one. The healthcare industry which largely comprises primary, physical healthcare could now see doctors and medical practitioners resort to video calls with patients, thus giving the relatively small e-health segment a big boost. So the next time you feel like you're coming down with the flu, choose one of the several apps already launched in the e-health segment, book an online appointment, and describe your symptoms. The doctor's prescription can be booked online and delivered to your doorstep. And if you think you may not find a specialist on these apps, think again! COVID-19 and the social distancing precaution it calls for, has prompted doctors to innovate and leave behind their traditional treatment methods. Rajan Anandan, MD of Sequoia Capital believes the future of healthcare will have each citizen having his own 'health ID'. “A health ID for every individual will encompass your health history and assign it a code like green being good health. Future of healthcare with e-diagnostics will be starkly different”. Telemedicine now is poised for growth. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also pitched for e-health and advancement and expansion of the segment in the midst of COVID. Doctors on video and AI prescriptions are set to make healthcare more efficient and accessible. Whichever part of the world you're in, as long as you have a stable internet connection, the combined forces of e-health including e-pharmacy and e-diagnostics can come together to look after you. But experts say it's still some time away that telemedicine can completely replace primary healthcare, largely because of erratic internet availability and changing patterns of diseases. ET NOW's Mubina Kapasi tells you how digital healthcare is set to take off! Listen in! The future of hotels in a post-COVID world | Exclusive

Video description:
Goodbye buffets, minibars, and spa treatments. Hello, temperature screening and keyless check-ins. Safe to say, that staying in a hotel will not be the same post COVID. Choosing a hotel will no longer be based on a fancy view but on safety and hygiene. Instead of being greeted by the welcome drink, expect a bottle of sanitizer. Contactless check-in and checkouts will be the new order. Aesthetics will take a backseat to safety with social distancing signage and less furniture. A leisurely group meal at the restaurant is a complete no no - get used to a grab and go service or limited seating restaurants. Hotels are going to great lengths to reassure guests but how when confidence returns – remains to be seen. The next time you check into a hotel, be rest assured the personal concierge service and amenities will now be a far more sober affair with sanitisation taking center stage.
