Why Is Medical Infrastructure Crumbling In Metro Cities? | India Development Debate
Video description:
On India Development Debate, As the country slowly begins to open, the capital city of Delhi is stuck in a deepening medical crisis. The city has over 29,000 total cases and over 870 deaths. It is being blamed of low testing and hospital bed shortage. Recently the city Governor also overruled two rulings by the AAP government. One stated that only Delhi residents can be treated in Delhi hospitals. The second said that only symptomatic patients should get tested for COVID. The Governor ruled that denying medical treatment is against an individual's right to life and that testing should be carried out as per ICMR guidelines only. To this the AAP government said the governor took this decision under BJP's pressure but BJP refutes this allegation and said AAP is doing politics over the governor's order. But the big question is not the political blame game. It is that the lockdown was enforced to ensure the government can ramp up their medical infrastructure but has that effort shown results.
