Union Cabinet Minister Prakash Javadekar in a briefing today announced the government's initiatives to provide relief to MSME’s hit by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. The Minister said that the government will over an economic package worth Rs.20,000 crores as a measure of relief set to benefit over 2 lakh stressed MSME’s. Apart from this, Union Minister Narendra Tomas has announced a relief measure for farmers as well ahead of the Kharif crop season. The government has made the decision of increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for the crop by 50% to 83%.
