Was Mumbai lucky to have missed the brunt of Cyclone Nisarga? The cyclone made landfall about 40 km from Alibag, 95 km from Mumbai. It crossed the Mumbai coast with a wind speed of 100-110 kmph. Mumbai witnessed heavy rain; trees, polls uprooted in many places. A high alert was issued for North Maharashtra & South Gujarat. The depression started 490 kilometres away from the coast of Maharashtra. The maximum wind velocity was expected to be between 90-100 kilometres per hour. To handle the cyclone, 34 NDRF teams were been deployed in Maharashtra & Gujarat with Indian Army’s rescue teams on standby. Tune in for the full debate as Dr. D. S.
