Global markets were driven by positive sentiment in May with most markets gaining during the month except India and Hong Kong. The Nifty declined four per cent while the Hang Seng slumped seven per cent in the month gone by. The recent rally in the market is owed to the actions taken by the Federal Reserve says S Naren, chief investment officer at ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. He also believes that one would have missed the rally only by looking economic indicators as the reason for the rally is not backed by “earnings growth” but the infusion of liquidity by the global central bank. In an interview with ET Now, he went on to say markets were cheap when the Nifty was around 7500 but at 10000 he advocates a need for the right asset allocation.
