The government has come out and issued a statement over the moratorium case in the Supreme court. It has stated that an interest waiver is not easy. The depositor's interest is also a major factor which has to be taken into consideration. These are the two main factors which have been brought into light. The bank currently will have to give interest to their depositors. Here's what the banks have said in Supreme Court on the case: They will have to consider payment deferrals on case-to-case basis and on sector-to-sector basis.
