Closing bell: Nifty closes 2.56% higher today; Bajaj Finance & IndusInd Bank among top gainers

Among Nifty stocks, L&T was the top gainer, up 6.63% 6.67% followed by Bajaj Finance and IndusInd Bank, which rallied 6.52% and 6.28% respectively. NTPC, Power Grid Corp, Bharti Infratel, M&M, Shree Cements, Axis Bank, Ultratech Cement, Zee Entertainment, HUL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nestle were the other prominent gainers in the Nifty, rising between 2.53%-5.82%. Reliance Industries was the top loser in Nifty, down 1.55% as traders resort to profit-booking after nearly 12% rally in the stock last week. Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, Vedanta were the other losers in the Nifty. Market breadth was positive as 1,222 shares out of the 1,637 stocks traded on NSE closed with gains and 415 shares ended with losses.
