Surprisingly, we have seen some pick up in ice-cream demand compared to March. 'Now things are more or less normal' and this has led to sales that are above pre-COVID levels & even higher than June 2019. Therefore, we have increased payment to distributors, transporters, dealers & suppliers. All our plants working on 100% capacity barring the ice cream plant and we have hired plants from private sectors to produce more due to demand. There is a change in consumer preference and e-commerce sales have doubled. More competition is good for the producers, says RS Sodhi.
